The wood types are especially beautiful when they are framed like a picture by a matchingcolor. However, combinations are also possible in which the difference between the finishes just becomes apparent on closer inspection, such as Oak Light Grey oiled and Grey varnished. Or you can set a highlight with contrasts, like Silverwood oiled and deep black varnished.
