In the following, we inform you about the handling of your personal data when using our website, and we undertake to adhere to the legal regulations on data protection. Personal data is all data with which you can be personally identified.

Extent of Personal Data Processing

We collect and use the personal data of our users only insofar as this is required for the provision of a functional website, our content, services, and to fulfill our contractual obligations. As a rule, we collect and use the personal data of our users only after the user has given his/her consent. Exceptions apply in cases where it is not possible to obtain prior consent for factual reasons and where the processing of the data is permitted due to statutory requirements.

SSL/TLS Encryption & Data Security

We have taken technical and organisational precautions to protect your data from access by unauthorised persons, and from accidental or intentional manipulation, destruction, or loss.
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g. inquiries or orders). You can recognize an encrypted connection by the character string "https://" and the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.
Our security procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to take into account technological progress.

Data Collection When You Visit Our Website

If you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect data that your browser transmits to our server — so-called "server log files". When you visit our website selectbaubedarf.com, our system automatically records data and information from the computer system of the visiting device that is technically necessary for us to display the website to you.

The following information is recorded without any action on your part and saved until automatic deletion:

  • Date and time of the visit
  • Access status / HTTP status code
  • Source/reference from which you came to the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • Websites visited by the user’s system via our website
  • For mobile devices: Manufacturer and model designation of the smartphone, tablet, or other mobile devices
  • Low-level tracer
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • IP address used (if applicable: in anonymised form)
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time

The above-mentioned data is processed by us for the following purposes:

  • Evaluation of system security and stability
  • Ensuring smooth connection establishment to the website
  • Ensuring comfortable use of our website
  • Further administrative purposes

Legal Basis for Data Processing

The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the log files is Art. 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

Data processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

Storage of this data together with other personal data of the user does not take place. The data will not be passed on or used in any other way.

Purpose of Data Processing

The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user’s computer. To do this, the IP address of the user remains stored for the duration of the session.

Storage in log files is required to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data serves to optimise the website and to ensure the security of our IT systems. In particular, our website and other IT systems help us adapt to the browser, operating system, and end devices used.

An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context.

These purposes are also our legitimate interest in data processing pursuant to Art. 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

Duration of the Storage

If data is stored in log files, this is the case for a maximum of seven days. Storage beyond this period is possible. In such cases, the IP addresses of the users are deleted or anonymised so that identification of the accessing client is no longer possible.

Right to Object and Removal

The recording of data for the provision of the website and the storage of the data in log files is absolutely essential for the operation of the website. As a consequence, the user has no possibility to object to this.

Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data

We process your personal data only when a legal basis exists, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

The processing of your personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract or for the performance of pre-contractual measures, pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

In cases where vital interests of the data subject or another natural person make the processing of personal data necessary, Art. 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1 lit. d GDPR serves as the legal basis.

If you have given your consent for the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes, Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR applies, and your explicit consent is documented by us.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is required to fulfil a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1 lit. c GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Data Deletion and Storage Periods

We store all personal data that you provide to us only as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the data was transmitted or as long as required by law. Storage may also occur if required by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws, or other provisions to which the controller is subject. Once the purpose is fulfilled and/or the legal retention period has expired, the data is deleted or blocked by us.

Transmission of Personal Data

We typically receive personal data directly from the data subject or with the data subject’s consent, and in exceptional cases from third parties.

Your personal data will not be transmitted to third parties for purposes other than those listed below. We only disclose your personal data to third parties if:

a) you have given your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR,

b) the disclosure is necessary pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest in not disclosing your data,

c) there is a legal obligation to disclose pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR,

d) it is legally permissible and necessary for the performance of a contract with you pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.

No transfer of your data to third parties takes place unless we are legally obliged to do so, or the data transfer is necessary to fulfil the contractual relationship, or you have previously given your explicit consent. External service providers and partner companies, such as online payment providers or shipping companies entrusted with delivery, will receive your data only to the extent necessary to process your order. We use typical contact and address data of our customers and business partners. However, in such cases, the scope of the data transmitted is limited to the minimum required. Where our service providers come into contact with your personal data, we ensure that the requirements of data protection laws are observed in the same way. Please also refer to the privacy policies of the respective providers. Each third-party service provider is responsible for the content of its services; however, we verify, as far as is reasonably possible, that these services comply with legal requirements.

Contractual Relationship

Conclusion of Contract

Within the scope of the contractual relationship, consistent with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR, only the absolutely necessary personal data required for contract processing is processed.

Insofar as you provide optional details, these are processed solely on the basis of your given consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR. Optional data is used by us to offer a customer-friendly service and to continuously optimise it.

Customer Account

You have the possibility to create a customer account with us. In addition to your personal data for contract processing, any further optional data and your past purchases are stored and processed. You can view this information at any time to get an overview of your previous purchases. This data is also used to allow you to log in easily with your login credentials during future purchases. It is intended to help you manage your purchasing activities.

The legal basis is your given consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.

You can change or delete the data in your customer account at any time, or delete the entire account. If you use this function, your customer account and all stored data will be deleted immediately.

Transmission of the Data for Shipments

The necessary data for the shipment of our goods (name and surname, address, email address, phone number if required for goods shipped by a forwarding agent) is transmitted to the relevant shipping company for the notification and coordination of delivery.

The legal basis for this transmission is consistent with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.
We transmit your data in this case to one of the following shipping providers. These companies provide further information on how your data is processed:

Passing on Data When Using Online Payment Providers

If you choose to use one of the available online payment providers as part of your order, your contact data will be transmitted to them in the scope of order processing. The lawfulness of this data transfer is based on Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR, for the implementation of the selected payment method, as well as on our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR in enabling a user-friendly and efficient payment process.

The personal data transmitted to the online payment provider includes name, surname, address, phone number, IP address, email address, and any other data necessary for order processing. This may also include order-related data such as item quantity, item number, invoice amount and tax rate, invoice information, etc.

This transmission is necessary for processing your order using the selected payment method, particularly for verifying your identity, managing the payment, and maintaining the customer relationship.

Note: Personal data may be shared with service providers, subcontractors, or other affiliated companies insofar as it is required for fulfilling the contractual obligations of your order or for order-related data processing.

After confirming your order, you will be redirected to a secure online payment provider. To prevent unauthorised access to your data, the ordering and payment process is encrypted using the hybrid encryption protocol "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) with 256-bit encryption for secure data transmission.

PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A.

PayPal is a payment method known as a so-called e-wallet. This means the customer creates a payment method with PayPal and logs into their PayPal account during the payment process to confirm the payment there. The login is performed on the PayPal site, and the customer does not need to share any payment data. However, the following data is transmitted to PayPal when this payment method is used: amount, order number, name (both billing and shipping address), address (both billing and shipping), email, and telephone number. The purpose of the data processing is the execution of your payment via PayPal. We receive from PayPal a payment confirmation including the above-mentioned data and the time of payment. The legal basis is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR. The data transmission described also serves the purpose of fraud prevention at PayPal. Therefore, the additional legal basis Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR applies. If you make payment via PayPal, the right to object is excluded, as the processing of your data is absolutely essential.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small file that is sent by an internet server and stored on your computer. Third parties engaged by us may also place cookies on your computer.
To make your visit to our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files stored on your end device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). If cookies are set, they collect and process specific user information, such as browser and location data, as well as IP address values, according to individual requirements. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie.

In some cases, cookies are used to simplify the ordering process by saving settings (e.g. remembering the content of a virtual shopping basket for a later visit to the website). If personal data is also processed by individual cookies set by us, the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point b GDPR for the execution of the contract or in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interests in the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly and effective design of the page visit.

We have entered into agreements with the third parties that place cookies regarding the use of the cookies and applications. However, select-interiorworld does not have full control over what the parties offering these applications do with the cookies once they are read. For more information about these applications and what they do with cookies, please refer to the privacy statements of the respective third parties (note: these may change from time to time).

We work with advertising partners who help us make our website more interesting for you. For this purpose, cookies from partner companies are also stored on your hard drive when you visit our website (third-party cookies). You will be informed individually and separately about the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected in each case within the following sections.

We use services from third parties, e.g. to integrate videos or other content, in order to provide you with engaging content. These third parties may also use cookies. These third-party cookies are used by partners who are interested in showing you content and offers that are presumably of interest to you. You can learn more about their cookie usage on the respective third-party websites. If you block cookies, not all content and functions will be available to you. For unrestricted use, you will need to give your consent again and remove corresponding blocks.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts on our website to enable the display of web fonts. Google Fonts is a service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, 94043). These fonts are integrated by a server call, usually to a Google server in the USA. This may result in the following data being transmitted to and stored by Google:

  • Name and version of the browser used
  • Website that triggered the request (referrer URL)
  • Operating system of your computer
  • Screen resolution of your computer
  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Language settings of the browser or operating system used by the user

For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy, available at:

The use of Google Fonts is intended to make reading our website easier and more visually appealing and is therefore based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Contact Form / Email Contact

When you contact us (e.g. via contact form or email), personal data is collected. The specific data collected in the case of a contact form can be seen in the respective form. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of responding to your inquiry or establishing contact, as well as for the associated technical administration. The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR. If your inquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, the additional legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1) point b GDPR. Requests and the associated data will be deleted no later than 3 months after receipt, unless they are needed for a further contractual relationship.

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the form, including your contact information and IP address, will be processed pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b and f GDPR, either for the implementation of pre-contractual measures requested by you or to pursue our legitimate interest in conducting our business.

Google AdWords

We use Google AdWords on our website, an online advertising program provided by Google Inc. This also includes conversion tracking. With this tool, Google AdWords sets a cookie on your terminal device when you visit our website via a Google ad.

The cookie expires after 30 days and does not enable personal identification. If you visit our website and the cookie is still valid, we and Google can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to our site. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies are therefore not traceable across the websites of different advertisers.

The data collected by conversion cookies is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers. As a Google AdWords customer, we receive the total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. We do not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can deactivate the Google conversion tracking cookie in your browser settings.

Google LLC, based in the United States, is certified under the US-European data protection agreement "Privacy Shield", which guarantees compliance with EU data protection standards.

Google Universal Analytics, GA4

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies — text files stored on your computer — to help analyze how users interact with the site. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website (including a shortened IP address) is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.
Google Analytics uses cookies for this purpose.

However, since IP anonymization is activated on our website, your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or other contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services relating to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by configuring your browser software accordingly. However, please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:

You can also prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents your data from being collected during future visits to our website: deactivate Google Analytics

Google AdWords Remarketing

We use the functions of Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise our website in Google search results and on third-party websites. The provider is Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). For this purpose, Google places a cookie in your browser that uses a pseudonymous cookie ID based on the pages you visit to enable interest-based advertising. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in optimal marketing of our website in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR.

Additional processing will only take place if you have agreed with Google to link your Google Internet and app browsing history to your Google Account and allow the use of information from your Google Account for personalized advertising. If you are logged into Google while visiting our website, Google uses your data in combination with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. For this purpose, Google temporarily links your personal data with Google Analytics data to create target groups.

You can permanently disable cookies for advertising preferences by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:
https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/
Alternatively, you can manage cookie preferences via the Digital Advertising Alliance at www.aboutads.info. Finally, you can set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set and decide individually whether to accept them or to exclude cookies entirely or in specific cases. If cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our website may be limited.
