About Castro Lighting Cascade Lights

Castro Lighting cascade lights are designed for stair voids, double-height foyers, and dining spaces where a vertical composition becomes part of the architecture. Hand-finished in Porto, these multi-drop and tiered installations combine brass craftsmanship with glass or crystal diffusers to create a controlled rhythm of light, depth, and reflection with a quietly luxurious presence.

Depending on the model and configuration, cascade designs can work as a compact cluster or as a larger statement installation, while maintaining a coherent relationship with Castro chandeliers and wall lights.

Craftsmanship & Materials

  • Solid brass canopies and detail components in polished, satin, hammered, or aged finishes
  • Diffusers in ribbed or opal glass, as well as selected crystal elements to soften and refract light
  • Careful levelling and cable management to maintain clean geometry and stable suspension
  • Protected surfaces designed to preserve finish consistency and clarity in high-visibility interiors

Design Language & Typologies

  • Multi-drop clusters with staggered lengths for stairwells and atriums
  • Tiered rings and vertical compositions suited to double-height spaces
  • Linear cascades for galleries and dining tables where more even coverage is required
  • Configurable arrays that can be coordinated with companion Castro chandeliers and wall lights

Light Quality & Controls

  • Lamping varies by model and may include E14/E12, G9, or integrated LED
  • Warm-white light in the 2700–3000 K range works especially well with stone, wood, and textile finishes
  • Opal liners, ribbed optics, and internal shielding help reduce hotspots and perceived glare while keeping reflections controlled
  • Select versions support dimming for more flexible ambient and architectural lighting control

Sizing, Drop Planning & Placement

  • Canopy size, drop count, and overall scale should be defined in relation to the plan and ceiling height
  • In stairwells, a stepped arrangement that follows the stair pitch often delivers the most natural visual rhythm
  • Over dining tables, the lowest point is typically positioned to keep the table comfortable and visually balanced
  • Project-specific drop maps and fixing notes help ensure accurate installation and practical service access

Applications

  • Entrance galleries, stair voids, double-height living spaces, and dining rooms in private residences
  • Boutique lobbies, winter gardens, private dining settings, and suites in hospitality interiors
  • Reception halls, show flats, executive apartments, and other representative projects
  • Both heritage and contemporary interiors where cascade chandeliers create architectural focus
